Patient Information & Resources

Helping doctors minimise your wait time

Please help the doctors run to time by keeping in mind that appointments are only 10 minutes apart.

Many patients will expect to deal with multiple issues in a single appointment which is unfair and unsafe. For each problem a GP needs to take an account, examine, investigate, manage, treat and document findings. Please do not take offence if the GP asks you to book a separate appointment so as your other problem/s can be dealt with safely and effectively.

Multiple Appointments

If you feel that you have multiple or complicated problems please inform the reception staff when booking so that longer appointments can be made.

If more than one member of your family needs to see a doctor or you have multiple problems to discuss please make separate or double appointments.

Practice nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

Named GP for every patient

Every patient now has to have a named GP. If you would like to know yours please contact the Practice. However this does NOT mean you must only see this GP and you may find that your named GP is not the doctor you already see most regularly. You can be reviewed by any of the GPs working at the Surgery.
