Liverpool Health and Wellbeing Day
Ovacome, the ovarian cancer support charity, will be hosting a free Health and Wellbeing Day in Liverpool for anyone who has been affected by ovarian cancer. Family and friends are also welcome to attend. The day will provide an opportunity to meet others in person and learn from experts about looking after your health and wellbeing, both during and after treatment.
Join us on Saturday 27 April. This will be a full day event with a programme of talks and workshops. You are welcome to join us for as much of the day as you like. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Below is the running order for the day:
- 10:00am - 10:20am, Arrivals, registration, and refreshments
- 10:20am - 10:30am, Welcome and housekeeping from Ovacome
- 10:30am - 11:30am, Mr Mohamed Mehasseb MBBCh MSc MD MRCOG PhD Consultant Gynaecological Surgeon & Oncologist at Liverpool Women's Hospital, will be giving a talk on 'recent advances in ovarian cancer surgery and optimum recovery for ovarian cancer patients'
- 11:30am - 12:30pm, Dr Paula Briggs MBChB, FRCGP, FFSRH, Dip Ven , DMJ (Clin), Diploma Gynaecology Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health at Liverpool Women's Hospital, and Chair of the British Menopause Society will be providing a talk on 'sexual and reproductive health after ovarian cancer'
- 12:30pm - 1:20pm, Lunch
- 1:20pm - 1:30pm, About Ovacome
- 1:30pm - 2:30pm, Guided meditation session with Dee Williams, Certified Guided Meditation Facilitator
- 2:30pm - 3:30pm, Yoga with Caroline Pritchard
- 3:30pm - 4pm, tea and chat

- are about to start college or university
- are going to travel abroad
- are planning a pregnancy
- are a frontline health or social care worker
- were born between 1970 and 1979, as you may have only been vaccinated against measles
- were born between 1980 and 1990, as you may not be protected against mumps

We now offer limited appointments for urgent blood tests each morning (except Friday).

Students Vaccinations
aXess4U – Sexual Health for Young People
axess Sexual Health, based within Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is launching its axess4U service for young people (aged 19 and under) in Merseyside and East Cheshire.
This specialist clinic is run on a walk-in basis (no appointment required), and offers safe and non-judgemental sexual healthcare for young people across axess regions – Liverpool, Knowsley, Halton, Warrington and Cheshire East.
axess4U clinics will provide:
- Contraception (including implants)
- Emergency contraception
- STI information, screening, and treatment
- Free condoms
- Sexual health advice, guidance, and information
- Pregnancy testing
